   Paithani saree also known as the ‘Queen of Sarees’ is one of the most popular sarees in India. Along with a beautiful and unique pattern, there is a rich tradition and culture associated with Paithani sarees. The name ‘Paithani’ comes from the town ‘Paithan’ in Aurangabad District, Maharashtra. A distinctive feature of a Paithani is that both sides of the sari look the same. To create an authentic Paithani sari, around 500 grams of silk threads and another 250 grams of zari threads are utilized for a regular six-yard piece, while the nine-yard piece uses more raw material and can weigh up to 900 grams. How Paithani saree evolved over the Years? Over the years, from a cotton base to a silk base, Paithani developed.
